How does it work?

A ducted reverse cycle system can heat and cool. Its central unit is on the roof, and the compressor is outside the home or business premises. Air is delivered to rooms via a system of ducts and outlets.

Ducted reverse cycle air conditioning uses heat transfer, extracting heat from the air outside. The refrigerant in coils within the compressor unit absorbs heat from the outside air (even when the air outside is chilly). This air is then pushed into the central internal unit and a fan releases warmth into the home. If cooling is required refrigerant is used and the flow is reversed through the system.

Ducted reverse-cycle air conditioning is an efficient and economical way to heat or cool the air. It also filters and dehumidifies the air. It costs about one-third of a direct-element heater. The fact that you can zone areas of the home or office means you can further cut heating and cooling costs.
